Idyllic Drakes Island Home with Private Beach Path!

After 20+ years of vacationing in Ogunquit we decided to venture a bit north to Drakes Island and I don’t know if we will ever go back. This hidden gem offered the best spot for biking, fishing, and endless hours on the beach. So much quality family time with our 3 boys. The best part was the house being so close to the beach and beach path. Our family was able to go back and forth easily to the house which created a chill vibe for us all. No need to pack food all day… go back to the house 50 steps away. Forget sunscreen… no worries go back to the house 50 steps away. Have to use the restroom….easy go back to the house 50 steps away! This house on this island was perfection!!!

First, let me begin with my praise of Maine Street Properties, especially Will. We have rented properties on costal Maine for over 40 years and we have never met a more professional rental agency or agent. Will was phenomenal! As to the property, we rate it A+++. It was very clean ( my first priority) and exceptionally quiet and spacious. The cottage was extremely well equipped, with every possible amenity needed. We felt at home. The quick walk, just across the street, to the beach was easy and convenient. This section of Drakes Island Beach is private, and not crowded. It’s just beautiful! We highly recommend this property, and we have already booked it for next year.

We had a wonderful stay! Private path access to the beach was awesome. Four rooms accommodated eight people very well. Also enjoyed having easy access to Wells Estuary Preserve at the end of the road. Only suggestion is that a grab bar be added to the bath.

Other than a small issue with a bathroom toilet not flushing properly, we were notified that a plumber was going to fix the problem. The issue was resolved and the communication and professionalism of employees Will and Andrea were excellent. My family and I would like to sincerely thank these individuals. We definitely hope to see you folks next summer!

We had a wonderful week staying at this property! The house was perfect for our family of 4. We look forward to staying there again in the future!
